We are looking for a self-motivated individual to work in a back-of-house role in our stockroom to support the continuing growth of our business.
The successful candidate will work as part of our small but busy Stockroom Team, ensuring delivery and dispatch operations run smoothly. We receive and deliver designer lighting around the globe but we are not a warehouse: we don't have scanners or forklift trucks. Our stockroom is attached to our showroom and offices in Broomhill, Sheffield. The role would suit someone who has previously worked in a retail stockroom or enjoys being physically active.
What would you be doing?
Typical activities might include:
- Picking and allocating stock for orders
- Packing items to a high standard for despatch
- Processing deliveries
- Following all policies and daily procedures to ensure the smooth running of daily operations
- Keeping the stockroom clean and orderly including the outside spaces
- Daily administration to keep stock moving
- Liaising with the office and showroom around orders and customer feedback
- Serve clients who collect goods/ return goods at the stockroom providing a high level of customer service (this is a small part of the role)
- Drive company van to make occasional local deliveries / collections and unloading / unpacking goods at delivery location
Working hours:
Monday to Friday 9 - 5pm

- Previous stockroom or back of house experience is desirable

David Village Lighting was founded in 1981 by David and his wife Liz. Inspired by their passion for interior design and their understanding of the importance of lighting as a design feature, David and Liz opened their first designer lighting store on Ecclesall Road, Sheffield.
