Storage Engineer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Storage Engineer with a focus on PowerMax technology and holding active Security Check (SC) clearance. The ideal candidate will join our dynamic team, contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our storage infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement storage solutions using PowerMax technology, aligning with the organisation's needs and industry best practices.
• Plan and execute storage capacity planning, performance tuning, and proactive health monitoring.
• Conduct routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Implement storage best practices and optimise configurations for peak performance. 
• Ensure storage solutions are in compliance with security policies and regulations.
• Work closely with the security team to maintain SC clearance requirements and participate in regular security audits.
• Collaborate with IT teams, including network engineers, system administrators, and application developers, to ensure seamless integration and support of storage solutions.
• Provide expert technical support and guidance on storage-related issues to IT staff and end-users.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Storage Engineer, specifically with PowerMax technology.
• Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex storage solutions in large-scale environments.
• Active Security Check (SC) clearance is mandatory.

Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of PowerMax and associated storage technologies.
• Strong understanding of SAN/NAS, data replication, backup solutions, and disaster recovery practices.

Desirable Skills:

• Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Dell EMC PowerMax).
• Experience with cloud storage solutions and hybrid environments.
• Familiarity with automation and scripting languages for storage management.
