 JOB SPECIFICATION

Store Person / Stock Controller – Permanent after 3 months probationary period.

The Company

Established in 2001 on the Wirral and is a market leader in the manufacture and supply of specific agricultural machinery for both national and international requirements.

The Role

Store Person / Stock Controller required with previous experience and a proven track record in manning a busy engineering stores. Including maintaining stock levels within the factory, ensuring all departments are stocked with their relevant parts to keep production flow going whilst reporting any short falls to the Operations Director, offloading, and loading deliveries via the use of an FLT (Forklift Truck).

Ensure received parts are checked, booked in, paperwork completed and returned to the office for processing and that received goods are stored in their correct location or racking.

Shared ownership of Spare Parts orders, working closely with the Sales Operations Assistant, ensuring all Spare Parts orders are received, packed, and dispatched to customers via preferred delivery service in a timely manner.

Requirements

As a Store Person you will be responsible for:

• Receiving and checking all day-to-day deliveries against purchase orders and reporting any shortfall or part deliveries.
• Ensure all stock is stored in the correct manner and in their correct locations both within the stores and the factory.
• Ensure Stores is kept clean and tidy.
• Communicate and assist Department Team Leaders to ensure all departments are stocked with required component parts to keep production flowing.
• Communicate and assist Department Team Leaders to ensure all departments are stocked with consumables and that those parts are booked out of stores on receipt of a material requisition slip.
• Assist Sales Operations Assistant in booking in and picking parts and that they are dispatched to customers via preferred delivery service.
• Liaise with Operations Director and also liaise with suppliers if required.
• Assist Operations Director in handling queries relating to delivery and stock discrepancies.
• Keep a record of and report any frequent shortages or spare items.
• Keep inventory management systems up to date.
• Carry out quarterly stock takes including end of year stock take.
• Pick and deliver products using a forklift.
• Load and unload deliveries for supplier and customer deliveries.
• Organize and deliver goods from the stores to the relevant departments as and when required.
• Maintain accurate records of production stock and any other operational data as requested by the Operations Director.

As a Store Person you will:

• Be reporting directly to the Operations Director, but also taking direction from department team-leaders on a day-to-day basis.
• Have good IT skills, with confidence in using Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and inventory management systems. - Essential
• Have a Forklift truck licence (Counterbalance) - Essential
• Have experience working in a similar inventory or stock control role. - Essential
• Have experience in warehouse and stores management within an engineering environment. - Essential
• Have excellent organisational skills.
• Have a good knowledge and previous experience in working in an engineering or fabrication environment. - Advantageous.

Qualifications

5 GCSE or equivalent

Level 2 City & Guilds (or equivalent) in warehouse management – Advantageous

Forklift truck licence (Counterbalance). Essential.

The Offer

Competitive hourly rate:

Starting salary £13.60 per hour for Tier 1 progressing to Tier 2 post probationary period and Tier 3 after 12 months.

Hours of work: 39.5 hours per week: Monday - Thursday 08.00 - 17.00. Plus, break times.

Friday 08.00 - 13.30. Plus, morning break time.

Please note, would be required to work past finishing time should collection times dictate this. However, this would observe any additional time being paid at overtime rate in these instances.
