We have an AWEsome opportunity for a Strategy Analyst to join us at AWE .
This is an exciting time to join us as a Strategy Analyst as we begin a once in a generation programme of work in support of the United Kingdom’s Continuous at Sea Deterrent.
We are located at RG7 4PR which is the countryside between Reading and Basingstoke with onsite parking. There are good bus links between Reading, Basingstoke and Newbury.
Salary starts at £44,240. However, if you can demonstrate an array of outstanding communication skills, confident analysis skills, a proactive and collaborative approach and display great penmanship, we are happy to negotiate upwards in our quest for the right Strategy Analyst for our team.
As a Strategy Analyst you will be part of the new Strategic Services Team and provide strategic and engagement support and expertise to shape, develop and implement activities to deliver our objectives across the business.
The focus is all about strategic development, and stakeholder engagement, you will be working on some really exciting and unusual projects.
Some of the key activities you will undertake are, but not limited to:
- Leading and providing support on Strategic Development and Strategic Engagement tasks
- Preparing and presenting attractive, concise, impactful briefing papers, presentations, and any other content necessary to support the Executive, board members and other senior leaders to make strategic decisions and plans
- Owning Strategic Services Team documents and processes
- Researching for information, content and context for strategic engagement projects and activities
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Undertaking Strategic Development activity, through research, interviews and collaborative activities to develop transformational strategies, and working as part of a team to develop, deliver and manage the company strategy process
We need you to demonstrate:
- A proactive and open-minded approach
- Experience in creating or supporting delivery of strategy projects
- The ability to communicate confidently with people of all levels
- A keen eye for detail so that you can see when a document doesn't read well
- Delivery of task-based projects
- An abundance of energy and a fresh and creative perspective
- An “I CAN do this” mind set
- A degree or relevant experience in politics/ finance/ engineering/ law is helpful
- Confident presentation skills and a professional approach

You must be willing and able to obtain and maintain Security& Developed Vetting Clearance (funded by us) in order to start with us in this role. It can take several months for clearance to come through.
This job role is suitable for hybrid, flexible working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station) and working from home as a personal choice.
This role does require some attendance for meetings on site as required at RG7 4PR along with occasional travel to our other sites, if required.
The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.

- Interviews will be scheduled during working hours. They will be 90 minutes on TEAMS and will include a 5-to-10-minute presentation
