Who are we looking for?

We have a new opportunity within our Student Retention team at CEG Digital! We are currently looking for a new Student Advisor to join an enthusiastic and fast-paced environment!

The role is on a full-time, fixed-term contract for 6 months with the location either in our Cambridge or Newcastle Office, United Kingdom. We are operating under a Hybrid Working policy (3 days work from home and 2 days in the office).

Our Student Advisors at CEG Digital are dedicated to providing students with the support they need, by ensuring they are comfortable navigating the digital university.

Student Advisors will ensure that our global community of online learners can take advantage of all the relevant support available throughout their journey with the ultimate goal being to complete their studies.

Our courses have multiple intakes per year, and you will guide new students through this critical enrolment period by offering support and responding to any queries to ensure all students have a positive experience from the outset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support an excellent student experience by answering non-academic student queries, escalating to other teams where necessary, and providing advice.
  • Maximise retention rates by proactively contacting students if there is a perceived problem and maintaining regular contact with students even if there are no issues signposted.
  • To maintain appropriate and effective records and management information and statistics in relation to the frontline services to help inform the development of the service.
  • Work collaboratively across teams including, university services and faculties, academics, and sales to ensure an exceptional student experience.
  • Monitoring student activity via CEG Digital and partner systems, for example the Virtual Learning Environment and other data collection tools.

The ideal Student Advisor will have:

  • Experience of providing excellent customer service
  • Experience of complying with established policies, procedures and timescales
  • The ability to build rapport with a diverse range of colleagues and customers
  • The ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative as well as to work proactively as part of the team
  • Experience of working in a student-facing support role in FE or HE, particularly in a pastoral care context (Desirable)
