The Business School Student Development Team is seeking to recruit a full time, open-ended (permanent) Student Development Manager.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Head of Student Development, you will support the design, delivery and evaluation of the Student Development strategy for the School’s online MSc students and, in collaboration with other Student Development Managers, deliver a professional development and career development programme, designed to increase self-awareness, confidence and employability skills and to enhance the overall student experience for all our students.
You will be a member of a team providing an effective service in all aspects of Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate Taught (PGT) programmes (e.g. MSc Human Resource Management) and associated courses. You will be a key point of contact for Head of Group and associated programmes and courses.
You will form part of a wider Student Development team, and will also work collaboratively with others in both the academic and professional services teams across the school, contributing to the overall student experience provided to students throughout their time with the School.
The role shall be based within the Business school, 29 Buccleuch Place (Central Campus) with opportunities to combine a mix of remote and regular (60%) on-campus working. This post is full-time (35 hours per week).
Your skills and attributes for success:
- Degree in relevant subject or equivalent formal training, plus, relevant hands-on experience in a similar or related role(s)
- Experience of managing own workload, working as a member of a professional team, and successful project management.
- Professional, confident self-starter, with experience of working in both a private sector and HE environment.
- Flexible attitude - able to think strategically, multi-task, plan ahead, set own priorities within and deliver to deadlines. Good presentation and facilitation skills for a range of audiences and styles (from on-line teaching, large lectures to small interactive workshops/tutorials), including prospective MSc students, faculty and School committees, and corporate clients.
