Job description

Location: Stirling Campus Contract type: Open Ended The Post The Student Systems and Data Coordinator (Statutory Returns) post is part of the Academic Registry team and sits within the Student Systems and Data area of the team which is responsible for ongoing maintenance and continued enhancement of the University’s student and curriculum Systems and the management of module evaluation and statutory data sharing and reporting, including student returns to HESA. The team supports the Academic Registrar and works in conjunction with the rest of the Academic Registry team in the successful delivery of Academic Registry objectives. The team also works collaboratively with the University’s Faculties, Divisions, and Professional Services to achieve institutional objectives. The post takes a leading role under the direction of the Student Systems Manager/Head of Student Systems and Data in managing the collection and submission of the data for the University’s Statutory Returns to HESA, and has responsibility for the provision of high quality data reporting to a range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that all requests are handled and responded to and in line with the University’s information governance policies and procedures and agreed Academic Registry service delivery requirements. Description of duties Prepare and submit the University’s statutory student data reporting for HESA and other statutory purposes as required, such as for SFC, SLC, SAAS, the Law Society of Scotland Coordinate internal and external data and reporting arrangements in respect of data held within the University’s Student Systems infrastructure Contribute to the management of data required for production of internal management information made available via the University’s reporting tools, ensuring that appropriate systems developments are requested and progressed to meet changing requirements, and working collaboratively with colleagues as appropriate Proactively review and regulate the quality and integrity of data, recommending action as appropriate to ensure continuity of service Essential criteria Educated to degree level or equivalent or demonstrable employment experience across a range of roles with increasing levels of responsibility Experience of working with responsibilities relevant to part or all of the administrative processes of the student lifecycle in Higher Education: enquiry, application, matriculation, enrolment, progression, award or graduation, and of interacting with a student record system within this Appropriate experience of HESA student returns and knowledge of the HESA data model Highly IT literate with windows-based products as communication and management tools, databases and relational databases For further information, including a full description of duties, essential criteria and details on how to apply, please see Vacancy details | University of Stirling
