The Royal Veterinary College is the UK's largest and longest-established independent vet school and is a Member Institution of the University of London. The RVC offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in veterinary medicine, veterinary nursing, and biological sciences, and CPD programmes in veterinary medicine and veterinary nursing.
We are looking for a full time Student Wellbeing Adviser to join our Advice Centre team within the University. You will provide information, advice and support for students on general, emotional and mental health issues. You will act as the first point of contact for students accessing Advice Centre services and will work with students to assess their presenting issues and liaise with colleagues across the RVC to provide effective and appropriate support. You will refer students to other specialist internal services and signpost students to external support services when appropriate so knowledge of, and ability to maintain good working relationships with colleagues and external services is key. You will also contribute to the development and promotion of Advice Centre services and other health promotion campaigns as directed.
You will also provide advice to colleagues on student support issues and contribute to the ongoing development of Advice Centre policy, processes and delivery of initiatives around Student Wellbeing.
We are looking for positive, motivated candidates with experience of providing high quality support to students. You must be an excellent communicator with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team. Being highly organised with a proven ability to manage a caseload effectively is also required.
