Job description

Bloomsbury Football Foundation is changing the game, and we need great people to help us on our journey!

In late 2023, Bloomsbury Football Foundation published its new 5-year game plan with the goal of providing high quality, football provision for 20,000 young people every week.

Bloomsbury Football Foundation uses the power of football to improve the lives of children and young people in London. Established as a charity in 2018, we work to support children and young people aged 4 to 18 through the provision of football activities, enabling them to live active lifestyles, and pursue their full potential.

Bloomsbury Football Foundation aims to ensure that every child can take part in our programmes – regardless of their ability to pay or play. We provide an experience and environment that is professional, competitive, and enjoyable for all players, coaches, and parents.

The Girls Super League

The Girls Super League, launched in 2021, is London’s fastest-growing grassroots girls’ league. The aim of the league is to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment, and make competitive football accessible to as many girls as possible.

One of the key aspects of the GSL model is the league’s commitment to hosting all matches at central venues. This model reduces barriers to access for clubs that may not have a home ground to host games or find the costs of pitch hire prohibitive. For the 2024/25 season, the GSL will offer three leagues at sites in North, South and West London, with the aim of engaging over 125 teams and 1500 players.

The league manager will be responsible for the daily operations of the league across all three sites and the strategy for shaping the league's long-term growth. This role will be accountable for ensuring the success of the league in terms of participation, social impact, and financial sustainability.

  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, maintaining regular correspondence with a club leads, venue managers, and county FA colleagues via email, phone, and WhatsApp
  • Ensure correct governance of the league (compliance with FA rules & guidelines, implementation of disciplinary procedures and safeguarding policies)
  • Line manage the full-time league coordinator and part-time league assistants
  • Develop and execute a short and long-term growth strategy for the league
  • Oversee league finances, producing budgets and raising invoices
  • Utilise the league’s impact measurement framework to implement an effective monitoring and evaluation process
  • Deliver events such as coaching & refereeing courses, community workshops, and tournaments
  • Work alongside the Fundraising team to secure partnerships/sponsorships
