Job Title: Supply Chain Inventory Manager

Salary/Grade: £60,000 per annum + Dependent Upon Experience

Location : Birchwood, Warrington or Peterborough, Cambs

About IPSD:

Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity to manage the Perkins Aftermarket Inventory Management Team who are responsible for providing the forecast plans and managing the entire portfolio of Aftermarket parts, ensuring that customer orders are fulfilled on time and in full. This management role is responsible for ensuring that the team are adhering to the forecasting process, whilst analysing the inventory processes and recommending new methods and approaches to improve the quality and efficiency of the service. Using advanced analytics to take appropriate actions to react and improve the overall inventory health. The Inventory Manager is responsible for planning and monitoring each phase of the inventory process, including reconciliation, audit and replenishment according to ISO and compliance standards and company. The Inventory Manager must also collaborate with internal partners to acquire appropriate requirements to meet development and accuracy standards, working with historical information and being proactive to understand potential future changes to the market and customer requirements to make the most informed decisions on inventory planning.

  • Hybrid working – office 3 days, remote 2 days

What You Will Do:

  • Analyse monthly fill failures and challenge the team to take appropriate action through inventory planning

  • Lead the assessment of the inventory health in terms of months of supply, movement code, value and facility and amend the plan to drive improvements

  • Monthly review of safety stocks and excess stocks and system amendments to support inventory planning

  • Provide dashboards and monthly reporting. 

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leaders.

  • Create innovative ideas to support increased service fill whilst reducing excess inventory and meeting inventory turns

  • Review & approve all system changes that impact IM forecasting or fill

  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Product Lifecyle and Sales managers to ensure that the inventory/forecast plan is working effectively for the wider business and allowing desired targets to be met

  • Review redeployment strategies between Global RLC’s

What You Have:

Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP)

  • Knowledge of the process, issues and considerations for systematically managing distribution of inventory for multiple plants or warehouses; ability to apply related knowledge and experience in real practice.

Utilizes data collection and evaluation tools and techniques.

  • Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Data Gathering & Analysis

  • Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment. Knowledge of analytics tools and software is a plus.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking

  • Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques & ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

People management experience

  • Examples of performance management, development planning and driving improvement of key business metrics through strong leadership

  • Experience of working with SAP & SPP system
