Our client are a forward thinking and innovative market leading company in the UK & Ireland in the fastener and fixings industry and are part of a large, multinational, group of companies.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising the end-to-end Supply Chain processes, ensuring the availability and delivery of critical components, managing supplier relationships, and driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
• Mentor and develop the Procurement Manager and Warehouse Team Leader.
• Work with the Sales & Marketing Director to create and maintain forecasts, manage exception reports and analyse forecast discrepancies to understand and respond to trends and changes,.
• Review, refine and optimise purchasing parameters, to enhance the ordering pattern for all product ranges.
• Understand our customer buying behaviour and how this impacts the Procurement Function.
• Work with the Procurement Manager to confirm shipment dates and lead times.
• Ensure optimum stock levels to maximise customer availability and to ensuring high selling products do not have stock out issues.
• Negotiate terms and prices with suppliers, monitoring and assessing their performance and maintain cost-effective practices.
• Work with the Procurement Manager to source new suppliers/products.
• Create and manage KPIs, supporting the Procurement Manager and the Warehouse Team Leader to implement to the wider Supply Chain team.
• Working with the Warehouse Team Leader to support the inbound and outbound deliveries.
• Understanding the inbound and outbound logistics of the business, the best and most cost effective methods of receipting and despatching goods. Negotiating rates and contracts with our carriers.
• To ensure the warehouse inventory is routinely monitored, with stock cycles and stock takes being carried out to keep the stock as accurate as possible.
• Understanding the roles of the key team members to ensure cover can be provided when people are absent.
Skills:
• A strong background in Supply Chain environment.
• Experience in mentoring, supporting and leading others.
• Strong negotiation skills with suppliers.
• Excellent management and leadership abilities to oversee Procurement, Warehousing and Logistics.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to organise and plan accordingly.
• Able to adapt within the different functions of the Supply Chain team.
Hours • Monday to Friday 08:45 am to 17:00 pm. • 45-minute lunch break.
