Job Title: Support Secretary
Location: Salford Royal Hospital M6 8HD
Hours: 30 Hours
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Transcribing /audio typing.
- Admin from results and clinic admin.
- Checking those prescriptions are up to date with patients address and update if needed.
- Sending out appointment reminders if requested.
- Helping with booking from OWL.
- Help cancelling clinics and rebooking.
- Printing clinic lists off if requested.
- Support with Telephone helpline and email – triaging messages, seeking clarification from patients, and directing to the right clinician for action.
You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
· A good understanding of Microsoft Office and Outlook, audio typing experience (RSA II or equivalent)
· Good all-round secretarial knowledge of all office practice and procedures.
· Relevant experience as a Medical Secretary elsewhere or as a Clinical
· Knowledge of Patient Centre, EPR, G2 and Medisec.
· Knowledge of medical terminology.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Work as a team member.
· Ability to organise work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
· Ability to work under pressure.
· An ability to communicate with people at all levels.
· Excellent telephone manner including good listening skills.
· Good attention to detail
· Willingness to learn new skills.
