More detail about the role You must be a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills, will have experience of working in Administrative/Secretarial roles, and be able to engage and work effectively with colleagues within the Multidisciplinary team. You will undertake general clerical duties to enable delivery of a comprehensive administrative and secretarial service, which will include providing support to Genetic Counsellors and Consultants, and to members of the wider team. To achieve this, you will need to be able to plan, prioritise and organise your own workload efficiently and effectively. We work to tight deadlines to ensure the best possible care, so timely, accurate completion and maintenance of records is essential. Excellent organisational and general IT skills are essential and training will be provided to enable you to use any required IT systems. The work includes data entry to IPM and our bespoke database system (TrakGene), for which full training will be provided. Medical terminology and knowledge gained from working in a hospital/NHS environment will be advantageous. You will also provide information and assistance by telephone to patients, carers and relatives in a sympathetic and caring manner. Previous customer service is essential as our team is committed to providing an excellent response to those who access our service. Working Pattern: 22.5 hours per week (days/times to be discussed).
