Your unique skills and experiences gained from military service will be valuable in fostering a structured and disciplined environment conducive to the academic and personal development of these students.Responsibilities:1. Mentorship: Provide mentorship and positive role modelling for students, helping them build resilience and develop essential life skills.2. Behavioural Support: Implement behaviour management strategies to address challenging behaviours, promoting a positive and safe learning environment.3. Individualised Support: Work closely with teaching staff to tailor support plans for individual students, addressing their specific needs and challenges.4. Conflict Resolution: Utilise conflict resolution skills to de-escalate tense situations and promote a calm and productive atmosphere within the PRU.5. Collaboration: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, including teachers, social workers, and counsellors, to create a holistic support network for students.Qualifications:1. Military Background: Significant experience in the military, with a strong understanding of discipline, leadership, and resilience.2. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.3. Empathy and Patience: Demonstrated ability to empathise with students and exercise patience in challenging situations.4. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.5. Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the dynamic needs of students and the PRU environment.This is a full time position starting January 2024. You would be working 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday. The school caters for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, who cannot remain in mainstream education.
