Pay rate: £12.88 - £13.91 - Based on Days/Nights and Weekends (Weekly Pay)
Full UK Drivers license required
Shift Pattern:
Tuesday 22:00pm - 08:00am shift
Sunday 09:00am - 17:00pm
Shifts are available for holiday/sickness cover
Location: Nursling
Unfortunately we cannot provide VISA sponsorship and we do not hire on a relocation basis, you must currently be based within a commutable distance to Southampton.
This is a permanent position.
Requirements:
  • Worked as a carer previously in the UK (Preferably atleast 3 months experience)
  • Experience working closely with families of the supported (Preferred)
  • Experience working with brain injuries would be beneficial but not essential
  • Full UK drivers license + own vehicle would be needed for this role due to location
  • Clinical experience would be beneficial but not essential, as you will potentially have to assist with the following: Hoisting, Manual handling, PEG feeding, Cough Assist & Oral Suction

This role will be supporting a lovely gentleman with a brain injury and concurrent health complications following a road traffic accident.
He requires PEG feeding, Cough Assistance & Oral Suction.
He is also non-verbal, so experience working with any or all of the following would be very beneficial.
At Team Brain Injury, we support adults and young people who have needs attributed to Brain/Spinal injuries and or Mental Health conditions with associated complex needs.
Our goal is to empower them to integrate more within their community whilst maintaining their independence and personal choice.

Your role is support is to meet his medical, personal care, oral suctioning, PEG feeding and day-to-day assistance needs. You will work alone, as part of a team and alongside an experienced Support Worker, operating on shifts to provide 24/7 care.

Our Support Workers cover all manners of support for others - from companionship and days out, to personal care and housekeeping.
You'll receive fully paid, on the job training and you'll have the opportunity to build your skills whilst cultivating a trusted relationship with the person you support.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You'll need to:
  • Be caring and approachable
  • Hold a Full UK drivers license & have your own vehicle
  • Have experience/Confidence with the following: Hoists, Manual handling, PEG feeding, Cough Assist Machine & Oral Suction
  • Be patient and welcoming
  • Be Helpful, reliable & professional
  • Bonus points if you like pets! The client has two very friendly dogs
  • A positive outlook
  • Able to help with personal care
  • Potentially administer medication and Ideally hold an NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care or related topic, or be willing to study towards this
