JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of Job

An Autistic non-verbal teenager in Coldstream and his mum are looking to recruit a support

worker to provide support to enable this young man to engage with his community and the

wider area. The applicant must have experience with additional needs, preferably Autism,

personal care required. A clean driving licence is a requirement of this role.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

• Enable and support the client to engage with the community as far as current Covid

restrictions will allow.

• Engage with the client around his interests, which include travel, books and beach

walks.

• Assist with social interaction

• Support his complex learning needs

• Support with toileting and personal care needs

General

• Clean driving licence with business insurance

• Experience working within the care sector

• Experience working with children

• Working knowledge and understanding of Autism

Hours of Work

• 7hours on a Sunday 1pm to 7pm

• 3 hours on a Wednesday after school

• Availability during school holidays

The Terms

• £12.00 per Hour

• Travel costs where applicable will be reimbursed.

• Annual leave 5.6 weeks pro rata

• Supported strictly on a 1:1 basis

• When working with the client the use of mobile phone to be limited to emergency

use only.
