Purpose of Job
Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire Violence Reduction Partnership (NNVRP) is seeking reliable and dedicated Support Workers to join our Another Way VCS Adult Support programme. This project aims to reduce violence by working with adults aged 18-24 who are at risk of offending.
Position in Organisation

Scope of Job
As a Support Worker, you will be the primary point of contact for assigned individuals, providing them with guidance and support to develop and achieve their personal development plans. These plans will focus on reducing their risk of violence and improving their overall well-being.
You will play a crucial role in engaging with often hard-to-reach individuals, building rapport, and motivating them to make positive changes in their lives. This will involve activities such as:
- Making initial contact and building rapport with assigned individuals.
- Conducting a comprehensive assessment of their needs, including mental health, education, and risk factors.
- Developing a personalised change plan in collaboration with the individual, focusing on goals and steps to achieve them.
- Providing ongoing support and motivation to help individuals achieve their goals.
- Maintaining regular contact through various methods like face-to-face meetings, texts, and calls.
- Liaising with other professionals involved in the individual's life, such as probation officers and social workers.
- Monitoring progress and reporting on outcomes.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a minimum of 2 years of experience working with vulnerable adults.
- Has a proven track record of engaging with hard-to-reach individuals and building rapport.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent motivational and coaching abilities.
- Ability to assess and manage risks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of individuals.
- Experience working within a multi-agency environment (desirable).
- Experience working with violence reduction strategies (desirable).
