Overview:
We are working with a client seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to provide care and assistance to individuals in need. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in improving the quality of life for our clients. This is an opportunity to make a positive impact and contribute to the well-being of others.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and support to clients in their homes or residential facilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals and ensure dietary requirements are met
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with clients
- Assist with behaviour management for clients with dementia or challenging behaviours
- Monitor and report any changes in client's condition or behaviour
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, such as nurses, to ensure coordinated care
Requirements:
- Experience in home care or a similar caregiving role is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
- Knowledge of medication administration and first aid procedures
- Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with clients
- Compassionate and patient demeanour when working with individuals with dementia or behavioural challenges
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if needed
