Request

Are you a fun and honest individual who loves going the extra mile to improve the lives of others?
Is it important for you to have a satisfying job where you feel supported?
If this sounds like you, maybe a Support Worker role with an award-winning charity is the change you’ve been looking for!
We are currently looking for a female Support Worker for 30 hours per week.  This will consist of 16 hours on a permanent contract and 14 hours on a temporary contract until March 2024.  After March, the role will be for 16 hours per week only but an increase in hours may be possible in the future.

In Denny, we support one lady to live independently in her own flat.  The lady we support has a learning disability, Autism and mental health concerns, so we are looking for individuals who have previous experience supporting an individual with Autism and can encourage and support her to become more independent.

In the past, the lady we support has faced a lot of challenges but has been living in her own home for over two years.  She continues to learn new skills every day and enjoys socialising, listening to Abba, getting dressed up and pampered, going to lunch club and going out to a nightclub once a month with her friends.

As well as the activities the person we support enjoys, our team also support her with:
Medication
Cooking
Assisting with personal care
Supporting her to maintain her home and finances
The current shift pattern here is from 10am – 10.30am the next day (includes sleepover).  We also provide some 2:1 support during the day, but the shifts for this can change depending on what the lady we support wishes to do.

*Section 7(2b) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975 applies that there is a genuine occupational requirement for female staff for these positions.

Benefits

The person we support likes to be supported by people who respect her and her home and who listens to her wishes.  She likes people who are reliable and honest, so that she can build trust and know that you have her best interests at heart.
