About the Service/Department
Hestia's homelessness Prevention Service provides support to single adults who are homeless or at risk of being made homeless within 56 days. This is a payment-by-results scheme where we aim to achieve specific outcomes and prevent homelessness through mediation and sourcing new accommodation.
In this role you will manage a caseload of service users over an 8 month period, this is to ensure they settle in to new accommodation and can go on to sustain their tenancies independently. This a hybrid position where you will work up to 3 days per week in our Central Office in Aldgate.
About the Role
- Liaise and negotiate with local lettings agents, private landlords, family/friends and other agencies, both statutory and non-statutory to find the best solutions to clients housing needs
- Meet weekly outcome targets
- Manage a caseload of service users, assisting them to retain their existing accommodation or secure alternative housing when all other housing options or solutions are exhausted
- Undertake assessments and ongoing reviews of Service Users' needs, options and opportunities by creating focused and co-produced Personal Housing Plans and agreeing actions to improve their housing options
- Develop and maintain effective working partnerships and arrangements with all statutory, voluntary and commercial organisations
About You
- Experience or relevant qualifications of working with housing and homelessness
- Have knowledge and an understanding of housing and homelessness legislation
- You have previously worked in a target led environment
- You thrive in negotiating and accomplishing daily outcomes
- Be solution focused, proactive and results driven
