AMJ Support was established in 2013, supporting children and young people across the Northwest. Due to continued expansion of the company, there is now a fantastic opportunity to join our ever-expanding support team.
Our LEAVING CARE homes provide person centred support for young people between the ages of 16 and 18 years with a variety of different needs and requirements.

We are currently redefining the ethos and focus of our business, we are looking for Support Workers to help us continue this process.
As an esteemed member of our team, you will operate within a domestic setting, providing top-notch support directly to our young people. Working collaboratively as part of the support team, you will motivate our young people to engage in independent activities through meticulously designed support plans. Your responsibilities will involve aiding with daily tasks (excluding personal care) and executing support strategies tailored to meet each individual's requirements. With a strong focus on delivering excellence, the primary objective of the role is to safeguard our clients from potential risks while fostering independence.
Requirements and Skills
· To work with all professionals, families, and the young people to ensure that their needs are met
· To contribute, as part of a team, to making the home a safe and caring environment for all young people placed in the home to enjoy and thrive and also promote their welfare and safety whilst in the home
· To have the knowledge and ability to analyse the risks of harm or categories of abuse and respond appropriately to the situations ensuring the safety and protection of the young people at all times
· To be able to prepare various reports for meetings, and be able to represent the home in meetings giving clear, concise and accurate information
· Candidates should be able to provide accurate reports on the day to day activities of the young people
· To be able to support the homes manager in the effective management of the home and staff team
· Candidates must be patient and have good listening skills
· Experience working in an Ofsted Registered Home or equivalent would be advantageous but not necessary
· Transferable enhanced DBS would be advantageous but not essential
· A caring attitude & Good listening and communication skills
· The ability to understand and follow policies and procedures
· Level 3 qualification in Children & Young Person qualification can be offered as part of career progression
· Character demonstrating honesty, decency and integrity
· Positive attitude, enthusiasm along with influencing and motivational skills
· The ability to cope with and remain calm in very challenging and demanding situations

Shift pattern:
Weekly shifts based on a 32 hour contract, overtime is always available. Sleep in shifts will form part of the weekly shift pattern.
