Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

We provide person-centred and creative support across Inverness, to adults with learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries, autism and mental health concerns. The people we support live in their own homes and need varying levels of support to live the best lives possible.

We are looking for proactive, fun and responsible individuals who would like to help the people we support get the most out of their lives. No two days in social care are the same, so be prepared to try new things, learn new skills and really have the opportunity to have a positive impact on others.

In this role, you can expect to support people with:

  • Medication administration
  • Personal care (this might include supporting someone to shower, use the bathroom, get dressed or shave)
  • Cooking, cleaning and financial management
  • Social support - supporting people to go out and about and engage in their favourite activities - this might include going shopping, watching sports, playing games, going swimming, doing DIY, watching movies, listening to music and any other activity the person we support is interested in

We are recruiting for different services and contracts across Inverness, so can offer some flexibility and are happy to consider enthusiastic individuals who have never worked in care before.

At this time, we can offer from 16 to 40 hours per week, with some requirement for weekend work and night support in most roles (this may be waking nights or sleepovers, depending on the service)

Your values:

We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience. This is why we're really passionate about recruiting to individuals’ values and we recruit people from all walks of life; From people with vast experience in a Support Worker or care assistant role, from people with lived experiences who may have friends or relatives with disabilities or have looked after older relatives, to people with no experience at all.

Naturally it is important too that you share our company values - We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable, which are at the heart of everything we do and ensure that we deliver high quality, consistent care and support. People's values are important to use, so we look for people with:

  • A problem solver
  • Resilience
  • Patience
  • Empathy, compassion and sensitivity to others
  • A strong work ethic
  • Reliability
  • Honesty
  • Determination
