**Job Title: Support Worker for Woman with Special Needs & Epilepsy**
**Overview:**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join us in providing care and assistance to a lovely, friendly, and happy woman with special needs, learning difficulties, and epilepsy. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the individual's well-being, safety, and happiness while promoting a keen focus on independence, growth, and development in various areas of her life, including communication, independence, learning, and overall support.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Personal Care and Support:**
- Assist with personal hygiene routines, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Administer medication and provide any necessary medical assistance as required.
- Monitor and manage any epilepsy-related needs or seizures with care and compassion.
2. **Enhancing Independence:**
- Develop and implement personalized support plans to promote independence and autonomy.
- Encourage and facilitate the individual's participation in daily activities, hobbies, and interests.
- Provide guidance and support to help her develop life skills, including getting dressed, making snacks and drinks, personal hygiene, cleaning and fitness
3. **Communication Support:**
- Foster effective communication by using appropriate methods and techniques tailored to her needs.
- Act as a patient listener and encourage open dialogue to understand her thoughts, feelings, and preferences.
- Assist with speech therapy exercises or alternative communication methods if necessary.
4. **Learning and Development:**
- Create a stimulating and supportive environment that encourages ongoing learning and personal growth.
- Plan and implement educational activities, outings, and experiences to promote cognitive development and social interaction.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as health care professionals to support her learning needs effectively.
5. **Emotional and Social Support:**
- Provide emotional support, companionship, and encouragement to foster a positive and nurturing relationship.
- Assist in building social connections and maintaining relationships with friends, family, and the community.
- Advocate for her rights, preferences, and choices, ensuring she is treated with dignity, respect, and kindness at all times.
- Assist with mobility
**Requirements:**
- Previous experience working with individuals with special needs, learning difficulties, or epilepsy is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and empathetic approach.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and composed in challenging situations.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and routines.
- A genuine heart centered passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others.
- Willingness to undergo relevant training as required.
- Implement behavior management strategies as needed
- Monitor and record vital signs

- Reliable transportation to travel to the clients home (preferred but not essential)
- Must be compassionate, patient, and understanding and have a nurturing nature
