We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in a care home or assisted living setting. Your role will involve supporting residents with their daily activities, ensuring their well-being, and promoting a safe and comfortable environment. Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including the use of mobility aids
- Administer medication under the direction of healthcare professionals
- Monitor and record vital signs as required
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship
- Follow care plans and ensure individualized needs are met
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Support Worker or similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks
- First aid certification is desirable
- Experience in dementia care or hospice care is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with residents
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
