Support Workers

Join our dynamic staff team and become a Support Worker with Mencap in our Derry/Londonderry services, Northern Ireland, you will actively be making a real difference to the lives of the people with a learning disability. The are various shifts available.

Support workers with support and training will deliver a fantastic service to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, independent and happy life.

In the role of a Support Worker you will be:

• Excellent communication skills
• Be caring and patient
• Supporting people with their budgets (Understanding and paying bills)
• Supporting life skills such as cooking and managing time
• You will actively be reducing social isolation that someone may feel who needs additional support..
• Supporting with Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day. This may include prompting the people we support to take their medication and assisting with bathing, showering and to use the bathroom.
• Using Positive Behaviour Support Strategies to help improve people’s quality of life.

We welcome applicants looking for full time and part time contracts. There are various shifts available across morning, afternoons, evenings, weekends and waking nights.
