Job description

Role Summary

The role’s key focus is to conduct sustainability, environmental, lifecycle and recyclable assessments and analysis, collate data and report findings.

This is an office based position where you will collect and analyse product and material data from internal and external suppliers and work with departments to develop a comprehensive environmental documentation and certification process. This includes carrying out investigations into what materials are used within existing product ranges and new product development initiatives.

Job Description

  • Supporting the product development team to ensure that products are designed in accordance with environmental legislation, regulations and standards while considering costs and quality

· Develop and support with the company’s research into what materials make up the structure of the products, liaising with external suppliers

· Prepare, schedule and conduct the investigations and reviews with suppliers

· Undertake product life cycle assessment for internal processes and products

· Supports environmental and sustainability initiatives with data gathering, analysis and produce evidence and documentation

· Contributes to achieving company’s sustainability goals by active participation in developing the data required

· Use data and analysis to identify opportunities for improvements and justify proposed recommendations

· Drafts and delivers reports to communicate sustainability initiatives highlighting their effectiveness and environmental impact

· Preparation of technical documentation and maintain a register of product data and documentation including technical files

· Working closely and collaboratively with all Product Teams including New Product Design, and the Tendering team

What you will need to be successful.

· At least two years of experience within the same or similar role.

· Degree educated with ideally an environmental/ sustainability degree.

· Highly competent in the use of MS Excel, Analysis Software and use of Environmental Calculations.

· Knowledge of sustainable development concept and frameworks and/or ISO standards

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Excellent teamwork and teambuilding skills with proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.
