Winchester City Council is looking for a Sustainability Manager to join the Sustainability & Natural Environment Team.
As part of the team, your role will be to lead on delivering the council response to tackling the climate emergency in the district, working to improve the environmental performance of the council and, through innovative project delivery, seek ways to reduce the district’s carbon footprint. The role will work across the council and with a range of external stakeholders and agencies to achieve the ambitions in the Carbon Neutrality Action Plan.
An ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential, as is good organisational skills and an ability to manage your own workload and time, as well as manage members of the sustainability team. This role will see you come into contact with members of the public, partners, contractors & suppliers, planners and councillors, as well as other sections of the council, so excellent communication skills are a must.
