About the role
We are seeking a Sustainability Manager to focus on the delivery of our Net Zero Ambition. The Very Group has submitted short and long-term Science Based Targets for validation which will see us aim for Net Zero by 2040.
The Net Zero Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing the development and implementation of strategies and initiatives to decarbonise our organhisation.
The role will:
- Analyse energy consumption, carbon emissions and sustainability practices across Scope 1, 2 and 3
- Collaborate and advise cross functional teams to design and execute plans to reduce our carbon footprint
- Engage with external stakeholders including our logistics providers, suppliers and customers to develop decarbonisation plans
- Ensure TVG's compliance to regulation and lead on disclosures such as FLAG and TCFD
- Monitor progress and provide accurate, engaging performance reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Develop and deliver training programmes and awareness campaigns to educate employees and stakeholders on Net Zero benefits and practices
- Engage with external stakeholders such as consultants, industry bodies and partners as needed to leverage external expertise and participate in industry discussion.
About you
- Strong understanding of energy consumption and carbon accounting
- Technical expertise in science based targets and carbon reduction pathways
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful carbon reduction strategies and initiatives
- Excellent project management and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams at once
- Strong commercial awareness, particularly in an retail environment where the bulk of emissions is in scope 3.
