This is a terrific opportunity for a talented community development professional with significant expertise in the energy sector and successful staff management experience to join our dedicated organisation.

You will discover a groundbreaking project - the first of its kind in Northern Ireland - in which you will be helping address fuel poverty and decrease our consumption of fossil fuels.

So, if you’re ready to apply your expertise to the future of Northern Ireland and make a difference to countless communities, read on and apply today!

The Role

As a Sustainable Energy Communities Project Manager, you will play a leading role in the SEC project, supporting our four pilot communities to decrease their consumption of fossil fuels.

Initially focusing on helping the pilot communities to develop their Energy Master Plans (EMPs), you will oversee all aspects of the project from reporting and monitoring to spending and stakeholder management.

You will also provide regular project updates to a range of our teams, investigating potential sources of funding for the implementation of the SEC Energy Master Plans following their development.

Additionally, you will:

  • Maintain an understanding of the challenges and solutions in the energy sector
  • Assist in writing up the EMPs
  • Monitor project progress, risks, lessons learned and reporting
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact the project is having on the pilot communities

About You

To be considered as a Sustainable Energy Communities Project Manager, you will need:

  • Experience of working on community development or community energy projects, or energy, energy efficiency, or retrofitting projects
  • Experience of operational, project and staff management
  • A qualification in a relevant field, such as engineering or community development

A management qualification, at Level 5 or above (or equivalent), would be beneficial to your application, as would a professional qualification in energy auditing and/or community development. A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field would be equally desirable.

The closing date for this role is the 17th April 2024.
