We are seeking an enthusiastic and hard working Switchboard Operator to join us in delivering a front-line telephone service for prospective students, staff and other University stakeholders.
Under the direction of the Marketing & Communications Directorate (Marcoms) Administration Team Leader, and as a member of the Marcoms Admin Team, you will answer telephone calls and provide routine administrative activities to assist in the delivery of an efficient frontline switchboard service. You will also provide general administrative support within the Marcoms Admin Team as required.
As a key member of our team, you will thrive under the pressure of a fast-paced environment whilst contributing to a customer focused, cost effective and efficient service.
The role requirements are as follows:
• Good attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven experience of working in a customer service environment
• Accurate data recording skills
• Administrative skills - including a working knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Office (especially Outlook) and MS SharePoint
• Acts in a way that demonstrates the University’s commitment to Equality and Diversity for staff, students, partners and customers
You will be a good communicator who is passionate about delivering high quality and effective customer service and be able to work as part of a team as well as on your own initiative. Previous experience operating a busy switchboard service or working in a customer service environment must be demonstrated.

This is a permanent, part-time contract working 22.2 hours per week across three set days – Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. The role is primarily officed based.
