Role:                Digital Forensic Administration Assistant

Department:    Crime Services

Location:         Churchill Way, Sheffield

Salary:              £23,121 - £24,921

Hours:              37 hours per week       

Contract Type: Permanent

 

Details about the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Forensic Administration Assistant to join our team and play a crucial part within our Digital Forensic Unit. You will provide administrative support to the Digital Forensics Unit, while receiving and recording the movement of exhibits into and out of the department.

A Digital Forensic Administration Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for exhibit handling, including receiving exhibits into the unit and preparing exhibits for dispatch.
  • Ensuring the correct storage of exhibits and managing the internal Digital Forensic Unit property stores.
  • Maintaining continuity of exhibits within the unit.
  • Controlling access to Churchill Way and the Digital Forensic Unit office.
  • Dealing with visitors, both internal and external.
  • Assisting the Digital Forensic Unit Management in the compilation of management information for performance figures and stats.
  • Assisting the Digital Forensic Unit Management with outsourcing requirements.
  • Arranging and setting up meetings.
  • Initial point of contact for Digital Forensic Unit general enquiries, both on the phone and email.
  • Monitoring and managing the Digital Forensic Unit email account.
  • Minute meetings, both internally and externally for the department where required.
  • Quality checking the submission paperwork from police officers to ensure compliance with South Yorkshire Police policies and procedures as well as National Guidelines.
  • Booking in and creating new cases on Digital Forensic Unit’s case management system.
  • Administration of the case management system to audit requirements.
  • Maintaining and managing a booking in procedure for kiosk usage and the viewing room.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
