Systems Accountant

Hays are delighted to partner with this organisation who are looking for an experienced Systems Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your new role
As the Systems Accountant, you will support the development of a robust financial systems environment for the Group and be responsible for supporting the finance 'Heads Of' in the best use of systems to maximise efficiency and improve controls.
The key responsibilities include:

• Ongoing maintenance of key finance systems, to encompass user access, training and new code creation
• Ensure robustness in the interfaces of the management systems into the finance systems
• Finance systems development projects, in particular the implementation of a purchase to pay system
• Be the finance contact for systems maintenance and report development, working alongside the Heads of Service to ensure that finance systems produce reports which are relevant and accurate
• Support the development of self-service reporting for finance information, developing, sustaining & promoting effective internal partnerships with senior managers
• Develop reports to improve management information, give instruction and provide training to users as appropriate, and undertake testing of key controls on a regular basis to ensure that they are operating effectively.

What you\'ll need to succeed
To be successful in the position, you will:

• Have proven experience in a Financial Systems/Systems Accounting role
• Understand key systems and processes
• Experience of finance systems in a complex business environment
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
