- Perform day-to-day application administration.
- Monitors and manages application and infrastructure health.
- Manages and controls application software licenses.
- Installs and upgrades all applications on all QA, Staging and Production platforms.
- Maintains secure applications.
- Interfaces with the QA, CM, Test and Engineering teams on all software releases. Provides sign off on various release gateways.
- Provides guidance and recommendations on all backend OS’s and infrastructure in relation to application function and performance.
- Provides assistance with Windows, UNIX, LINUX, AIX and HP-UX based platforms in relation to application function and performance.
- Monitors system backup/restore/failover software and hardware.
- Mentors staff, is a key liaison to peers and others system analysts.
- Conducts performance tuning; optimization of resource configuration on all platforms and LAN.
- Provides assistance in the configuration of Routers, Firewalls and Load Balancers as related to application requirements.
- Assists in installation and configuration of databases.
- Assists in installing, configuring and operating monitoring software such as SolarWinds.
- Develop documentations describing installation specific configurations and processes.
- Interacts with application and infrastructure vendors and distributors.
- Participates as a primary contact in the 24x7 on-call support rotation.
- Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in maintaining applications, both third party COTS and internally developed.
- Knowledge and experience administrating various Windows and UNIX Operating Systems, including Perl Scripting. Knowledge of databases, including SQL Server and Oracle.
- Knowledge of SQL in general.
- In depth understanding of System Administration/Analyst methodology and principles.
- Must have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.
- ITIL experience
- Knowledge of Azure & Cloud based technologies
- A university degree in a numerate subject (e.g. Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, Natural Science) or relevant work experience.
