Systems Support Analyst
Location: Cambridge University Hospitals
Job Type: Full time, Permanent position. 37.5hrs per week.
Salary: GBP43,742 - GBP50,056 (The maximum salary will only be paid for candidates with previous experience of this role/ department within the NHS)
We are proud to be supporting Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in finding an experienced Systems Support Analyst to join the team.
The main purpose of your role will be to work with other members of the team and wider Directorate to provide a quality, customer focussed business Systems Support service to the Capital, Estates and Facilities Management Directorate.
You will be expected to configure business systems, in line with functional and informational requirements and customer satisfaction. This may require you to work closely with end users to implement system usage and data quality monitoring mechanisms.
With full responsibility for the day to day management of Estates Business Services projects, you will work closely with the Estates Business Services (EBS) Management team and the wider Capital, Estates and Facilities Management Directorate to ensure EBS projects are delivered effectively.
After development the applicant is expected to progress into providing a Business Analyst support service, identifying business needs, processes and risks and developing these into IT specific business system requirement specifications and then implementing this into the business environment.
Job Duties:
- Work as part of a team providing quality, customer focussed service desk support to end users, the focus of which will be business system and application support.
- Ensure service desk tasks are logged, updated and closed in a timely manner and in line with SLA s, working closely with partner support agencies to resolve incidents and problems.
- Configure and manage business systems in line with business functionality needs, change control and quality standards.
- Undertake 1st line SQL based system support enquires.
- Liaise with, and provide expert advice to, the Estates and Facilities Directorate for the installation of new business systems and the support of existing systems to ensure they meet operational requirements.
- Ensure safe configuration of systems and applications. This will require that work is accurate, consistent and documented appropriately.
- Manage system security, ensuring data is appropriately accessible.
- Apply business system patches and updates using approved change control procedures.
- Research business system capabilities and business requirements.
- Where possible configure systems to minimise user error and to facilitate ease and flow of data entry,
- Ensure systems remain secure and comply with Trust information governance standards.
- Maintain knowledge of developments in IT systems and related technologies, on matters which may affect or be beneficial to the area of work for which he/she is responsible.
- Working with 3rd parties, install, configure and support MS SQL and the business systems that use MS SQL services.
Required Experience/ Qualifications:
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent relevant experience
- Querying Microsoft SQL server or equivalent
- Business System implementation, management and support experience
- IT Project Management Experience, delivering multiple complex projects to specification, quality, cost and time
- Experience of configuring, supporting, securing and managing Microsoft SQL systems (SQL Server2008 and above)
- Hands on technical capability in performing data manipulation, data cleansing, querying and analysis
- Experienced working with end users to deliver products and achieve deadlines
- Demonstrable resource management (people, time and cost), risk management and change management experience
- Experience of managing 3rd party suppliers, technology partners, management and end users
- Good customer service and communication skills with the ability to translate user requirements to business system and reporting output.
