Robertson Bell is pleased to be partnering with a fantastic organisation in Leeds who are seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will join a dynamic and knowledgeable team who will be able to assist and help you develop in your Finance career.
The main Tax Accountant responsibilities include:
- Prepare the quarterly VAT return. You will be involved in the different VAT amounts including 20%, 5%, partial and zero exemptions along with corporation tax.
- Regularly speaking with internal and external stakeholders regarding tax matters on a case by case basis ensuring each individual is understood and appropriate advice given.
- Recording capital goods, ensuring the organisation stays compliant tax wise and helping deliver training to the wider business to upskill and maintain tax knowledge with heads of department.
- Working through and responding to the HelpDesk, a pivotal part of the organisation to help answer colleagues and staff queries on tax matters. Liasing with the external auditors when samples are needed.

The successful Tax Accountant candidate will have:
- Experience with and confidence in calculating and submitting VAT returns, partial exemptions and CORP tax.
- Intermediate excel skills.
- Fantastic written and verbal communication skills.
- Great attention to detail having the ability to analyse and identify discrepancies and learn new systems and procedures quickly.
