A well known, established and modern accountancy firm based in South Manchester that provides a range of general practice services for clients across the UK. This firm has an excellent reputation across the North West with a rich history of supporting a range of owner-managed businesses with a full catalogue of client services. With over 120 staff across two office locations in the North West, they have grown at a good rate in the last 3-5 years, making key hires in strategic areas including taxation, audit, advisory, transformation and corporate finance. Due to continued growth and a strategic plan to grow their tax department, they are looking to bring in an experienced Tax Advisory Manager or Senior Manager to support the existing Tax Partner team of 3. A firm which prides itself on a varied Tax Advisory workload, you\'ll be joining a well established 10 tax advisers working alongside another Senior Tax Manager.
Your new role
As a Tax Advisory Manager or Senior Manager, you will work alongside other senior members of the tax team delivering a range of Tax Advisory work, working closely with the tax partnership. The work in which the advisory team is involved in is very varied, but this role would see you getting involved in a mixture of corporate and private client advisory matters. The portfolio itself is made up of a range of small to large owner-managed businesses, meaning the pipeline of work does vary from client to client. You will be supporting projects including M&A, restructuring, transactions, due diligence, MBOs, share schemes and R&D work to name a few. The role itself had the ability to be moulded to your tax skill set within Tax Advisory. As well as delivering on complex tax queries, you will also help the partner team run and manage the overall tax department, developing and mentoring more junior members of the tax team. Depending on your own career ambitions, this role will allow you to progress with a brilliant partnership route, with previous Tax Managers\' progressing through to partnership in the past.
What you\'ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you need to come from a strong Tax Advisory background with a minimum of 3-4 years experience advising on a mixture of tax queries. Ideally, you will be CTA qualified. However, the firm will consider a Tax Advisory professional who is ACA/ACCA qualified. You need to have experience working with owner-managed businesses in the UK and ideally have experience with corporate Tax Advisory matters. This role would suit someone who is a real team player and enjoys dealing with clients face to face, not being afraid to ask clients difficult questions to best understand their needs.
