Job Description
As our Tax Manager, you'll serve as the subject matter expert in tax, taking ownership of tax reporting, forecasting, and preparation of UK corporation tax returns.
Your responsibilities will extend to managing the preparation and filing of all tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and international tax requirements.
You'll also be responsible for preparing tax figures and disclosures for inclusion in our Group consolidated and statutory accounts, while managing Group quarterly corporation tax payments on account.
Reporting directly to the Head of Tax & Treasury, you'll also liaise with external advisors on capital allowances and R&D tax relief claims, assist with HMRC enquiries, and review and approve VAT returns.
Your strategic mindset will be crucial in managing the group effective tax rate, proposing and implementing tax planning opportunities, and leading tax-related projects to drive efficiency and minimize risk.
Qualifications
Skills
- Planning and organisation.
- Strong technical tax knowledge and understanding of global tax laws and regulations (in particular UK & US).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and effectively manage tax risks.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to set priorities.
- Ability to communicate complex tax issues to non-tax professionals. Communication, including written, face-to-face, presentation skills and the ability to cascade consistent messages for maximum impact.
- Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of financial reporting.
- Strong IT skills, and experience in using tax compliance software packages.
- Problem-solving.

Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Accountant (for example ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and/or Qualified Tax Advisor (for example ATII or CTA).
- Significant UK Corporate Tax experience, including extensive experience in tax compliance and reporting.
- Alphatax and AlphaTag Experience.
- Experience of tax in a large corporate environment.
- Relevant Accountancy and Tax qualification.
- Knowledge of Navision would be beneficial.
