St Paul’s Way Trust is an outstanding ‘Through School’ with a track record of innovation. Drawing extensively on academic research, the school provides a unique curriculum experience centred on our vision of a “transformational education for all.”
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and knowledgeable Teacher of English. The post would be suitable for both an ECT and a more experienced teacher who would like to develop their skills and expertise in an ambitious, well-resourced and highly successful English Faculty. Experience in teaching GCSE and/or A Level would be particularly desirable.
This is an excellent career opportunity for a colleague who is passionate about the entitlement of young people to a knowledge-rich English curriculum, built around challenging, high-quality literature – aligning with the work of practitioners such as Christine Counsell and David Didau. You will be joining an incredibly hard-working and passionate team and will work alongside dynamic and supportive management.
The English faculty is also a high performing team; in August 2023, the faculty celebrated 100% A*-C at A level and 91% Grade 4+ at GCSE level. The team works collaboratively to continue to raise attainment but also provide the powerful knowledge our students need to be effective scholars of the subject discipline, fostering a love of language and literature.
We are looking for an individual who:
Has a calm, professional and approachable manner to support the raising of attainment of all students they teach
Will contribute to an inspiring, innovative and caring team
Is passionate about students’ entitlement to powerful knowledge within the subject discipline
Is proactive and has exceptional classroom skills
We will offer:
Enthusiastic, courteous and considerate students who behave well and have good attitudes to learning
An exceptional, well-resourced learning environment
A supportive and friendly team of staff
