Permanent Teacher of Humanities Job at Hyde High School, Tameside. Easter 2024 or sooner. For Easter 2024, or earlier if possible, we are seeking to appoint a talented and passionate teacher to join our skilled, enthusiastic and well-resourced Humanities Department. The successful candidate will join a friendly and supportive team where new ideas are welcome and good practice is willingly shared; they should be able to teach all three Humanities subjects confidently. History and Geography are popular subjects with strong uptake at Key Stage 4 and RE is highly valued at Hyde with all pupils continuing to study it at GCSE. All three subjects within Humanities have carefully designed and fully resourced curricula to reduce planning time and so support wellbeing.

Hyde High School is a co-educational 11-16 school with approximately 1150 pupils on roll. The school serves two of the most deprived wards in Tameside and a large proportion of pupils are supported by Pupil Premium funding. This is a proudly multicultural school with almost a third of pupils having Bangladeshi heritage and typically thriving at Hyde. SMSC is a strength and permeates our school; positive relationships underpin our harmonious and aspirational ethos. Pastoral systems are strong and a wide variety of support measures are effectively employed to enable pupils to access learning.
