Join the team at Brighton & Hove as a Teaching Assistant and be part of supporting the delivery of education to 16 young people aged from 11 to 18 to help build a brighter future.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide on-hand support to teachers as they design and deliver classroom lessons. This will see you assist in the preparation for these lessons, ensuring the classroom has all materials required and supporting pupils to engage in the syllabus.
You'll be able to think creatively and build a strong rapport with the cohort, encouraging engagement and supporting their learning, behaviour and social skills progression.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Education-related qualifications
- Previous experience of working with children in a school setting.
- Excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
- Hobbies/interests/skills that contribute to a wide curriculum offering
- Have experience of working with young people with SEMH needs and/or SEN
- Be able to identify and implement interventions to ensure students engage in lessons and make progress
- Be resilient, flexible, and adaptable in approach in order to meet the needs of each individual
- Be able to empathise and engage easily with young people, offering appropriate and professional support at all times

"Brighton & Hove Clinic provides a CAMHS Tier 4 Eating Disorder service for ages 12 to 18 years with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder; or an eating difficulty with a co-morbid presentation for example mental health/psychological issues, such as depression, OCD or anxiety/self-harm. We work actively with young people and their families, to empower them to manage their illness in the community."
With an onsite school. The school provides educational services to the young people in our care with a full multidisciplinary team.
