Job description

Lincolnshire Secure Unit is a 12 bedded Secure Children’s Home licensed by the Department for Education (DfE) on behalf of the Secretary of State, inspected by the Office for Education, Children’s Services and Skills (Ofsted), managed by Lincolnshire County Council, Children’s Services and monitored by the Youth Justice Board (England and Wales).

About the Home

The Secure Unit opened in March 1997 and provides care and education for twelve young people between the ages of ten and eighteen years in a setting that combines modern standards of design and security with a professional but homely atmosphere.  The unit has earned a very positive reputation both locally and nationally for the service it provides.  Lincolnshire Secure Unit promotes the use of Restorative Justice, as this is key in helping young people take responsibility for their actions and enabling them to lead a more positive future.  We provide on-site Care, Education, Offending Behaviour Interventions, Personal Development and Health services (inc CAMHS services) to young people (males and females) aged between 10 - 18 who have been remanded or sentenced by a court or whose behaviour cannot be managed in any other form of accommodation.

About the Role

Required as soon as possible, a qualified, experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning.

Please note this position is NOT term time only, the job will involve supporting the pupils in the home during school holidays.

The post holder will need to be a confident and effective individual who can support the teaching and learning of young people with challenging behaviour.  We are looking for an individual who relishes a challenge, who wants to try new ideas and who genuinely wants to contribute to the lives of young people with drive and passion.
