Role Overview
As a Primary School Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other staff members to support the learning and well-being of our students. From assisting with classroom activities to providing one-on-one support for children with additional needs, your role will be diverse and rewarding.
Key Responsibilities as a Primary School Teaching Assistant:
Assist teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons, providing support to individual students or small groups as needed.
Support students with special educational needs (SEN), implementing strategies outlined in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensuring their inclusion in classroom activities.
Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting good behaviour, encouraging participation, and fostering positive relationships among students.
Assist with the planning and organization of educational resources, materials, and displays to enhance learning opportunities.
Provide pastoral support to students, offering a listening ear, encouragement, and guidance as required.
Requirements:
Experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting (though some training can be provided for the right candidate).
A positive and nurturing approach to working with children, with a genuine passion for supporting their learning and development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks to support the needs of the school.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
