Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Social, Emotional, and Mental Health
Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Employment Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday), Temp to Perm
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to TimePlan Education and work in schools supporting students who have social, emotional, and Mental Health needs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting in the development of students, assisting them in overcoming barriers to learning and promoting their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with social, emotional, and Mental Health needs in the classroom setting.
- Assist in implementing individualised education plans to support student learning and progress.
- Foster positive relationships with students, helping to build trust and rapport to create a supportive learning environment.
- Support students in managing their emotions and developing coping strategies to deal with challenges effectively.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to implement strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as needed.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with students with social, emotional, and Mental Health needs preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Understanding of behavior management techniques and strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the well-being and academic success of students.
- Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the evolving needs of students and the classroom environment.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in education, counselling, or related fields are desirable but not essential.
