Job description

The Faculty of Science and Engineerings Teaching, Learning and Student Experience Team is looking for a passionate and highly skilled Teaching & Learning Officer to join our Foundation Studies team in delivering high quality leadership and management of the Foundation Studies area and Foundation Year programme ensuring high quality support, advice and engagement for our Foundation Studies students to ensure they receive a high-quality student experience.

You will be responsible for supporting the management and delivery of teaching, learning and student experience activities including the development, delivery and implementation of all policy, procedures and practice relating to teaching, learning and student experience, quality assurance framework, programme enhancement and student engagement, support, and welfare.

You will be joining a dedicated and motivated team, and you will manage the professional services (PS) team in the delivery of teaching, learning and student experience activity for Foundation Studies. You will work closely alongside the Faculty Student Service, Support and Development Manager, the Foundation Studies team including academic and PS colleagues, and colleagues across Schools, Faculty and University.

You will work with leaders in PS, academic colleagues, and senior colleagues to embed locally and University-wide a culture of excellent service provision and continuous improvement, placing the student experience at the heart of what we do. You will also support senior colleagues in the delivery of the Facultys strategic priorities that will enhance the student experience, in particular for Foundation Studies.

We expect applicants to have significant experience in a similar role, which may have been gained in Higher Education or a related field. We additionally expect applicants to seek to engage in continued professional development in this area.

Colleagues will be expected to work flexibly across the University and to take on assignments and roles as required across the organisation, using key principles of business partnering and collaborative working to ensure delivery of University and local priorities, operating at all times as a single cross University team.
