The Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre (CSSC) based with the Jean McFarlane Building supports simulation teaching activities for Nursing, Midwifery & Social Work students. We are looking to appoint a full time Teaching Technician to support teaching activities in this team.
The main purpose of the role is to provide technical support for undergraduate teaching activities. The post holder will assist senior technical staff and clinical facilitators in the setting out and clearing away of practical classes and examinations. This will also involve preparing teaching resources, equipment and housekeeping duties.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking and organised individual with an interest in working in a Simulated Clinical Environment to contribute to a service which values the student experience above all else. Housekeeping will be an important aspect of the role as the CSSC is an area where high standards must be met to prepare students for clinical practice.
N.B. The role is a 2-year fixed term position, pending the outcome of a review of the Technical Service provision across the Faculty. Since this is a role in the direct support of teaching, it is not suitable for flexible or hybrid working arrangements.
What you will get in return:
- Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
- Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
- Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
- Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
- Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers
As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
