Job description

Job Introduction Please Note: A Full UK Driving License and Access to a Vehicle is an Essential Requirement.
Interviews will take place on 17th July
At Turning Point, we have been supporting people for 60 years and are continually inspired by the stories, experiences, and possibilities created by those we meet.
The Herefordshire (West Midlands) Recovery Service is an integrated drug and alcohol service working with young people and adults, as well as friends and family who are affected by someone's alcohol or drug use. We have dedicated pathways for veterans, criminal justice and housing. We deliver treatment and support across the whole of Herefordshire ensuring a holistic and inclusive approach to recovery.
We have an opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to oversee our Alcohol & Non-Opiate and Young People Team. As part of this role, you'll have the chance to make a real difference to the lives of the people we support who are experiencing difficulties from drugs and alcohol usage, helping shape how the service is delivered, and empower our staff to deliver the very best quality of care and support.
Passionate about people, you'll enjoy support to enhance your own life too, as you make the role your own in a friendly and multidisciplinary team.
As a Team Leader we offer a starting salary of GBP31,500 rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, rising to GBP36,851 per year. (Dependent on experience you may be offered a starting salary above the initial starting salary).
You will have opportunities to progress your career with a structured learning journey and clearly defined career pathways that will enable you to achieve your long-term goals and work to your strengths.
Role Responsibility As a Team Leader you will support the development of this service alongside the Operations Manager, providing line management to a team of Recovery Workers, enabling the service to meet and exceed outcomes and quality requirements that promote independence and recovery for the individuals we support.
You will ensure Turning Point's vision and values are embedded in the team and will work closely within our multi-disciplinary team, to ensure the best possible outcomes for the people we support. Part of the role will also involve working closely with local partners and stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of the service.
Our central hub is located in Hereford, with satellite provision in Leominster, Ross, Bromyard, Kington, and Ledbury, so a flexible approach and an ability and willingness to travel to other sites is essential.
The Ideal Candidate You will have a proven track record of leading and supporting a team, with experience of delivering supervision and appraisal, as well as being able to guide and support staff to achieve the best outcomes for the people we support.
An effective team player, you will possess good communication skills, a flexible recovery focussed approach, a positive attitude and be able to adapt in a changeable environment.
You'll understand alcohol and other substance use issues, specifically alcohol and non-opiates, as well as appropriate treatment pathways, and the challenges and opportunities for individuals on a recovery journey. Substantial knowledge and/or experience of current detox and prescribing options would also be advantageous.
We value individual creativity and initiative and, whatever your role, you will be fully involved in identifying opportunities to improve the quality of our services and the experience of the people we support. Your ideas will be listened to, and your suggestions implemented wherever possible. You will be supported in your role by extensive training to help develop your skills. Our learning culture encourages everyone to stay on top of the latest developments in their field and helps drive service improvement.
