Highfields and Its Staff:
Highfields is a day service for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. Service users come to our safe, informal, and friendly place to meet others and take part in activities that will help maintain their life skills. It also gives family members and carers a break from their caring roles.
The centre is warm and welcoming, with different bases for service users including Peony, Bluebell, Daffodil and Foxglove. All bases are decorated with colourful and engaging artwork with some being allergy free zones. We also have an amazing garden for service users, with a greenhouse, sensory walk, and seating area. Service users also enjoy the communal area for activities, there are sensory and therapy rooms available.
Our team is passionate about their work and having a positive impact in the day-to-day lives of our service users, promoting independence, and making a real difference. You will join a highly skilled staff team who support people to find hobbies they enjoy, while setting and achieving personal goals to take control of their lives. We recognise that some people require high levels of support, but we ensure they have opportunities to be involved in activities that are meaningful to them.

Requirements for this role:
- You will have strong leadership and organising skills and be dedicated to promoting excellent care practice and the smooth running of the service through your staff.
- You will have an understanding of planning weekly service needs and will work alongside your Team Leader colleagues to maintain the smooth running of the service, communicating any changes and escalating any issues to the Deputy Manager.
- You will be financial accountable for the service users finances and medications in line with the authority’s financial and safeguarding procedures.
- In this senior role, you will be expected to represent the service in the absence of the deputy manager this includes at meetings, reviews etc., presenting a positive image of the service and communicating its values, aims and objectives at all times.
- You will be aware of the policies and procedures required to support Highfields Day Service and to deal with some aspects of HR management including monitoring staff skillset and ensuring that the general safety and security of the building is adhered to, with standards of hygiene and cleanliness being maintained throughout.
- As a Team Leader, you will need to ensure you support the Deputy Manager In all aspects of their role, and in line with corporate policy, as well as striving for personal development. You will support the audit trail as required in some areas of the service.
- You will be friendly and personable as a large part of your role will be to establish and maintain relationships with service users and relatives, as well as other professionals and support networks.
- The comfort and wellbeing of our service users is paramount, and you will need the skills to work with complex and diverse cases to meet individual needs in a sensitive and effective way under diverse circumstances.
