We are looking for a Team Leader (Progress & Careers) to lead our careers provision across the college. We believe this post offers one of the most exciting opportunities for someone who is motivated, inspiring and has an innovative approach to delivering services for students. This role provides an opportunity to make a difference and improve the lives and futures of the young people of Tameside.

As a Team Leader (Progress & Careers), you’ll go into the Local Government Pensions scheme and enjoy some really great benefit’s as well, Free on-site Gym at Beaufort Road, Beauty treatments and haircuts, Health care cash plan via Simply Health, saving clubs via Manchester Credit Union, Cycle to work. Here’s the standard bit: You will lead a very strong team and play a pivotal role in implementing the careers strategy, design and deliver high quality careers activities across the college. You will be working closely with teaching and support staff to develop students’ careers and progression. You will provide line management, motivate and inspire a team of Advisors to enable them thrive in their role.

What you’ll need: Resilience and a highly innovative and motivated approach to careers service delivery, recent experience of providing careers guidance in a relevant setting and coordinating a range of progression related activities. You will need up to date knowledge of careers frameworks such as Gatsby Benchmarks, careers resources, a broad range of qualification structure and progression routes. The successful candidate will hold a Level 6 or above qualification in Careers Guidance (or you will be working towards it). You will also have experience of the issues facing young people with barriers to their learning and progression.
