Infrastructure (Highways) covers a wide range of services including Highways & Drainage Maintenance, Traffic & Transport, Active Travel, Assets & Planning, Parking, Road Safety & Civil Enforcement, Engineering and Civil Contingencies.
The job covers a number of Team Manager posts within Infrastructure including Highways & Drainage Maintenance, Assets & Planning, Parking, Road Safety & Civil Parking Enforcement and Highways Network.
Each Team Manager will be responsible for delivering of one of the areas listed above. Post holders must be prepared to work across multiple service areas and assist in any and all of the above areas as directed to meet service delivery.
This post is currently within Parking, Road Safety & Civil Parking, as mentioned above there is potential for the post holder to rotate between the various jobs as directed by the Service Manager
As Parking, Road Safety & Civil Parking Team Manager you will lead on the following services within Infrastructure:-
- Car Parking – Undertaking the role of Premises Management and managing the Multi- Storey and Pay and Display carparks within Newport.
- Civil Parking Enforcement - Leading the team in dealing with parking contraventions within Newport
- Road Safety, Signal Maintenance, Traffic Orders, Residential parking management - Managing / Maintaining the asset so it is safe for all users to use.
- Dealing with enquiries from Councillors and Members of the Public
Enthusiastic and confident, you should have a relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience. You should have experience of managing high varied workload and have proven success of leading service delivery improvements.
You are open-minded and business focused, with an organised and analytical approach to your work – and you are used to maintaining attention to detail while working to tight deadlines. You are self-motivated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and appreciate the importance of customer care. You have strong financial management skills and a creative approach to problem solving with excellent IT and data analysis/management skills.
