What is the job role?
Coventry City Council Fostering Service is seeking to recruit a Team Manager for the Mainstream Support Team. The Support Team has responsibility for the supervision and support of mainstream Foster Carers.
The Team is made up of 3 clusters and the successful candidate will have line management responsibility for one of these.
The team consists of supervising social workers and a children and family worker. The supervising social workers work with a range of foster carers including those who provide care within our out of hours and our parent and child fostering schemes.
The service has a commitment to working closely with our foster carers and with children’s social work teams to ensure that fostered children are well cared for, experience stability and achieve permanence in a timely way.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Who are we looking for?We are interested to receive applications from those with experience of working with foster carers as a social worker and / or those with experience of managing or leading a social work team.
